Often, there comes the time when a loved one requires some assistance with medication, meal preparation, transportation to appointments or simply assistance with the day to day tasks. Sometimes all of these things are being managed successfully but there is a need for a sense of security. In either situation, assisted living may be the answer. The Gardens at Calvary is the first licensed assisted living community in Muscogee County, having received our Assisted Living License in June, 2013. The Gardens at Calvary Experience
The Gardens at Calvary is somewhat unique as we are a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church. We have a chaplain on staff that provides devotions, weekly bible study and Sunday Services.
Our staff provides care with personal attention to details, as each Elders needs are addressed through individualized care plans. Nurses, Elders and their representatives participate in this planning process.
Often, an Elder may be home alone much of the day, as neighbors are away at work. This leaves them rather isolated. At The Gardens, there is the opportunity for socialization; at mealtime, during activities, chatting in the living room or rocking on the front porch.
Each Resident has a pendant that may be used for assistance when needed. The Gardens is staffed with an LPN during week days, while our director, Lisa Dodgen is an R.N. Certified Nursing Assistants provides care for our Elders, 24/7, while medication is administered by Certified Medication Aides, who have gone through special training and passed the on-line state exam.
Three meals are enjoyed daily in our dining room as Elders enjoy the companionship of neighbors, eliminating the worry of “What did mother eat today” or for the Elder, “What am I going to cook”. Weekly laundry service is provided along with daily trash pick-up and weekly cleaning of the apartment.
The Gardens is often described as a place of “light and life”, as one observes the relationship between staff and Elders and the enriched lives of those who call The Gardens home. Come take a look, enjoy a meal with us and see what makes The Gardens at Calvary a special place to call home.
