Letter from the Executive Director:
Greetings from the Gardens at Calvary,
I am honored to serve as the Executive Director at The Gardens at Calvary. I have roots that run deep at Calvary Ministries. My mom served as Brother Don Wilhite’s secretary in the 1990’s, and during that time I attended Calvary Baptist Church and Calvary Christian School. As Brother Don once told me “You have Calvary in your DNA”.
Our primary focus is to simply be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Columbus, GA area through our elder care ministry. We are committed to honoring tradition and operating with the same love and compassion that has been the pillar of this ministry since its inception. If you spend any time at all at our community, it is evident that it takes a coordinated effort between all departments to fulfill our mission. What a great example of I Corinthians 12.
Scripture is all about community. We weren’t created to be independent, autonomous, or self-sufficient. We were made to live in a humble, worshipful, and loving dependency upon God and in a loving and humble interdependency with others. Not only were we created to be in community, but we also need community. We need Godly brothers and sisters to watch our back. We need each other. We need to trust, rely on, and depend upon other believers. God gave us each other to walk alongside, encourage, and spur one another in the faith.
We invite you to come be a part of our community, and we look forward to the honor and privilege of providing compassionate care to you or your loved one in a Christ centered community.
Peace and blessings,
Dusty Worsley, Executive Director
Catelyn Peterson, Resident Services Director
Julie Ryan, Office Manager
Neil Stephens, Chaplain
Julia Taylor, Marketing Director
Emorie Galliher, Life Enrichment Director
Rick Motzel, Food Services/ Housekeeping Director
Letter from the Pastor:
As a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, The Gardens at Calvary is an expression of love and service to the Chattahoochee Valley. More than 90% of the residents of The Gardens have no connection to Calvary Baptist Church, which is a testament to our commitment to serve our community and to share the truth of God’s love by what we say and do.
Founded in 2000, The Gardens at Calvary has served the growing population of older adults in our community, and the model of ministry and service is built upon two principles:
- Treat the residents as members of our family, and
- Run it like a ministry rather than a business.
My family has personally been positively impacted by this high level of care and commitment, as three of my grandparents-in-law have been residents in the past. We
can personally attest to the hospitality, dignity, and family culture that I am confident you will experience as well.
We are committed to demonstrating to the world that a commitment to Jesus Christ demands that we care for elders with compassion, dignity, and excellence. God bless.
